Dr Alexandrian offers an invisible treatment or “lingual treatment” option. The cost is almost double that of conventional treatment. A multiple-attachment device is placed on the inner side of the teeth towards the tongue.This technique is used by only 5 to 10% of practitioners in France and is extremely complicated. Dr Alexandrian has been practicing it for 20 years. This method used to be extremely uncomfortable for the patient, but the equipment used has evolved considerably in the past 10 years with the apparition of substantially less bulky, more accurte and more varied devices being introduced. Now, there is virtually no discomfort associated with speech following the procedure. Dr Alexandrian used different lingual techniques depending on which deformation is being corrected.
When there is a gap between the teeth of the lower and upper jaw, the patient must wear a visible elastic in the teeth for 2 to 3 months. Therefore, the treatment can no longer be considered ‘invisible’ during this period. Multiple-attachment ceramic devices are also availble, which are more discreet, basically invisible. Dr Alexandrain will advice you on how to best meet your expectations. All sorts of combinations are possible between the different systems in order to best reconcile invisibility, discomfort, and buget constraints.
